Here’s a painting of one of my favorite things. We got this chair in Florida years ago. Actually we have two of them. They are made out of deadhead Cypress wood salvaged from the swamp, and you can’t really find much of this wood any more. The live trees are protected. (a very good thing). [...] Here’s my latest. The colors are quite vivid, all done as glazes, which catch the light. 18 x 24 inches. Acrylic and pencil on deep edge canvas. If you’ve been here at the blog lately, you’ve probably been dissapointed, as there has been almost no activity lately. I’m sorry about that. You see, instead of writing, I’ve been driving around town a lot. Firstlight is going to have to move this Summer. We have outgrown our current facilities abilities to contain us. So, [...] Have you ever wondered why there are two hot primaries and only one cold, but there are two cold secondaries and only one hot. Weirdness! Such a tiny little bottle, but so much [...] A student asked yesterday which of these programs was best for doing color on the computer. It’s not an easy answer, but my short version was, “…depends”. Both are somewhat difficult to learn and both are expensive. Although Photoshop (PS) has a light version that is far more affordable than the full professional version. I had a lot of fun with this, using watercolor, acrylics, colored pencils and oil pastel together on a watercolor panel (not paper, but a special board with a clay coating to simulate paper).
