Here’s my latest. The colors are quite vivid, all done as glazes, which catch the light. 18 x 24 inches. Acrylic and pencil on deep edge canvas. A student asked yesterday which of these programs was best for doing color on the computer. It’s not an easy answer, but my short version was, “…depends”. Both are somewhat difficult to learn and both are expensive. Although Photoshop (PS) has a light version that is far more affordable than the full professional version. I had a lot of fun with this, using watercolor, acrylics, colored pencils and oil pastel together on a watercolor panel (not paper, but a special board with a clay coating to simulate paper). If you try really, really hard to [...] This is a thick painting, unlike a lot of what I’ve been doing. I kept getting more and more paint on the canvas. Then I went back the next day and added a ton more. Instead of working within a certain style, I tend to do whatever the painting seems to need. 16 x 20 inches. [...] I like pears. They’re especially good with some blue cheese. Ok, now I’m hungry. The speckling on these was really nice, and I tried to create the same effect with splatters both on the pears and in the background.
