2020 Summer Art Programs

Please sign up to be added to waiting lists

We are seeing a lot of last-minute openings this summer due to changing schedules. We have added a camp or two as waiting lists fill in.

Summer Health & Wellness Overview

Firstlight Art Academy is following the latest CDC schools guidelines. We are committed to protecting the most vulnerable among us. To be open, we need everyone’s cooperation and commitment to the safety policies outlined below. Thank you!

Our Camp-Like Classes are Very Small
10 people or less in one working space

Summer Wellness Practices & Policies (tap to open)

Physical Distancing & Screening

  • Two classes will meet each morning, each with a separate entrance and designated bathroom. We will keep each group separate from the other.
  • Parents will drop off and pick up children in car lines instead of entering the facility. We’ll have welcoming check-in teachers at the car lines. At pick-up, students will be walked to the cars.
  • We will be asking the CDC screening questions and taking touchless temperatures upon arrival.
  • Floors will be marked to show students where to walk and stand.
  • Each student will be assigned a space for personal items.
  • We’ve changed our room layouts to ensure each student is 6 feet from others and that there is a clear and open path to the bathroom.
  • Students will have designated supplies.
  • Please send personal snacks and drinks with your student.

  • Assistant will sanitize the bathrooms after every use.
  • All surfaces will be wiped down with disinfectant before class, during break, and after everyone leaves.
  • Everyone will wash their hands upon arrival, during breaks, after each bathroom break, and before leaving.

  • Everyone is required to wear a mask or bandana covering.
  • Each studio has a break-chair, far away from everyone else, where students can remove their mask for a few minutes.

Lunches – if student is staying for the afternoon

As much as possible we will be eating outdoors on our new picnic tables under tents with distance between students. If weather does not permit this, we will be in the studio but with open doors and fans to keep air moving.

These policies come from governor Lee and the CDC. If everyone can come prepared knowing these guidelines, we’ll have a fun summer of making art.

Basic Information

Firstlight Summer Camp-Classes have become so popular they have completely filled up the last few years. We took the focus of a small art class and combined it with the fun of camp activities. It’s become a real favorite in our community!

Schedule: 9 AM until 1:00 PM. Art Camp-Classes are Three hours, but students can now stay for FOUR hours, beginning at 9 AM and staying until 1 PM. Camp art activities end at Noon. Then campers open their sack lunch they’ve brought from home, and enjoy an hour of extra fun with classic cartoons and games. Students may choose to stay even longer, until 3:30 PM – by joining the $30 afternoon Summer Art Buffet (as long as there are open spots left). You can also combine the afternoon art buffet with your morning class all week in a discounted package (prices below).

Coming & Going: Morning drop off is not available before 8:45 am without special request/payment. Please CALL us. Pick up can be anytime from noon to 1 pm.
