Firstlight was founded in 2006 by local artist, designer and illustrator, Dennas Davis. He is the original illustrator of the Beginners’ Bible and the 1997 version of Betty Crocker Kids Cook, as well as featured in Disney’s, The Art Of Mickey Mouse calendar in 1996. Dennas has illustrated 23 children’s books with over 5 million in print worldwide.

We have instructed over 4000 students from ages 6 to adult, and we have many options to choose from. Our Foundational art courses follow the traditional school-year, with a long-term approach to training and mentoring artists both young and old.

You may join a class at any time during the school year if there is room in the class. Sign ups are a commitment to the end of each school year.

We also have additional classes, special workshops and summer camps.

We take learning art seriously, and believe that anyone who loves art can learn and improve. We’re here, because artists deserve lots of encouragement, skill training, as well as vital insights. Work At Firstlight!
